Back in 2007 I had the opportunity to travel around the U.S. in an RV for a month with some family and I have to say that my favorite stop along the way was probably Glacier National Park.  It was so beautiful and breathtaking.  I loved the views, the flora and fauna, the weather, the air…all of it.

I remember picking a random hiking trail while I was there around Lake McDonald and just walking and walking wondering where this trail was going to lead.  After about 2.5 miles in it opens up to this gorgeous small lake (Avalanche Lake) nestled in the mountains and streaming down into the lake on all sides are beautiful waterfalls!  There had to be at least 4 or 5 of them.  It took my breath away and I took off my shoes and waded in the cool mountain water feeling my way around smooth river rocks and peering down to the bottom through the crystal clear water…I’ll never forget that day.

If you ever get the chance to make it up that way you will not be sorry for stopping there to take in the beauty!
