Good golly, I’m in love. I stumbled across some photos of kara rosenlund’s work and my heart skipped a beat. Naturally I went to visit her website and found out that not only is she amazing at styling interiors (also food and lifestyle) but she is also a photographer! I love her moody, saturated photos and her natural, organic interiors. She lives in Australia where she travels around with her “traveling wares” caravan to share some of her favorite things with everyone she meets. Head over to her website and read all about it!
I totally geeked out when I saw that H&M sold bed linens at such great prices! It doesn’t really take much to tell that anyone would want to dive into that bed pictured above. True bed linens give a room such a relaxed, but refined, look and feel. You can read over my post from last year about how great a fabric linen is and its many benefits. H&M has linen duvet covers that start as low as $69.95!!! That’s crazy, y’all! They have other great bedding as well so head on over and give your room a facelift!
What girl doesn’t love an everyday go to piece of jewelry? That is why I love Maslo Jewelry! I met Nicole Maslowski, from Richmond, VA, a couple years back when she stopped by the place I was working to sell her jewelry….my bank account is not safe when she comes to town! I love her simple approach to creating stunning pieces of wearable art! She has a great eye for using mixed materials and I would recommend any of her pieces to you! Head over to her website to check out her whole inventory and see what she’s been up to lately…
I can’t even begin to recall everything that has happened in the past year but it has been a lot! How are all of you? I do miss this place. I guess I have just been so busy with work and living that I haven’t found time to get on here and catch up. Plus, I’ve been living like a cavewoman for the past few months without cable or internet….people always ask….how do you do that??? Well, I’m not sure, but here I still am! Here are some photos of the past year…I tried to put them in chronological order….tried being the key word.
It’s that time of year again when kids are going back to school and fall is around the corner. Now through September 16th everything in my etsy shop is 30% off when you use the promo code: yellowbus Happy Shopping!
Hi strangers. Wow, has it really been 5 months?!! It just seems like yesterday that I left to take a break and now here we are…September. I can’t say that I am not eagerly awaiting fall with open arms and an open heart. It’s been a fun but hard summer. Sadly Chris and I have parted ways and I moved in with some friends in May. Sometimes things are meant to fall apart so better things can fall together….that is of course what I am hoping for. I’m not going to bore you with the break up details though…you’re welcome.
Anywho, I moved in with friends, knowing that they had to be out of their condo in 4 months because the landlord was selling, and planned on finding a place before then. Well things don’t always work out as we plan, right? The 4 months came and went and we looked for a place to all move into together but I think our check list was too long and we were too picky. Now we have all gone separate ways and we are staying with other friends while we look for a place to live. I was lucky enough to have a friend who said I can stay with her in her cute little bungalow that she just purchased with her boyfriend, now fiancé! (congrats Carly!) So as I write this I am sitting in my little room on my mattress on the floor with just a few things surrounding me to make me feel like home. I have a storage unit packed to the brim and a dog that I had to send to NC to stay with my mom for a while until I find a place that I can have him with me. It’s been a very hard week….stressful, overwhelming, sad and maybe exciting at the same time? I can’t say that me bawling my eyes out in my car at my storage unit was the highlight of my week but I feel like I can only go up from there, right?
Finding a place to live can be so difficult, and yet I have to be hopeful that the best is yet to come. That this is, obviously, temporary and that I will find a place that I can nest and make my own. I’m asking that you all keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I diligently look for a place to call home and that it be in a safe neighborhood with friendly faces. I am going to try to get back into the swing of things on here but to start it might just be a few posts here and there…maybe some photos, some thoughts, and hopefully a lovely new home. Miss and love you all! xox
Hi lovelies! I hope everyone had a beautiful Easter Sunday and spent time with ones they loved!
I have decided to take a little break from blogging for a bit. It may be just a week or it might be longer. I have just had so many things going on in my life lately that I need to sort out and I need to take some time to slow down and take care of me. I’ll be back soon enough… much love. xox
This jewelry by Heather from My Selveged Life is absolutely up my alley! I love the way she takes unusual and unique items and creates stunning pieces of wearable art. I wish tomorrow was my birthday because any of these would be a perfect gift!
One thing I love about Easter is seeing all of the creative ways people decorate eggs. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, you haven’t. Unfortunately, I can’t really remember the last time I dyed easter eggs…I think it was probably a few years ago. My favorite thing now is to see the eggs my niece decorates. It seems at her age the fun part is just getting to dip the eggs in the dye…I don’t think she really cares what color it actually comes out to be…brown would be just fine by her. Do you still decorate Easter eggs?
I have a thing for big ‘ole envelope clutches that zip….and so now I have a thing for coriumi. They are so fun and practical and price so well! See more at her shop and find her on Facebook, twitter, flickr, and her blog.
